He commanded the Seventh regiment, Illinois National guard, during the railroad strike of 1894. His education was received in the Chicago public schools and the old Chicago university, from which he graduated in 1880. He is survived by his widow, four daughters, and a son. Funeral services will be held this morning at Holy Cross church. The interment will be at Calvary.
