- Note*: Michael Sorohan and Thomas Sorohan On the 1821 Irish Census for County Cavan, Townland of Dennbane, there are three Sorohan/Sorahan families living in close proximity to each other. Given the ages, it has been hypothesized that the two oldest are brothers, specifically Thomas Sorohan, age 45 and Michael Sorohan, age 60. It is also believed that the third Sorohan, Thomas, age 30, is the son of the older brother, Michael. Further, a descendant of each of the believed "brothers" has tested his DNA and the Y chromosome matches exactly, proving they descend from a common Sorahan/Sullivan ancestor. Unfortunately, the match is too far back, as of yet, to find autosomal matches that might help support our hypotheses.. On the 1821 Irish Census for County Cavan, Townland of Dennbane, there are three Sorohan/Sorahan families living in close proximity to each other.
