The Elgin gold watch belonged to Nanette Madigan Rooney. The front bears her initials NIM for Nanette Isabel Madigan and is believed to be a gift from her soon-to-be husband, George Rooney.
The Rooneys were married on August 2, 1903. The gold case has a fleur-de-lis pin with another fleur-de-lis engraved on the back cover and set with six tiny diamonds.
