Nell Madigan was engaged to John J. Burke in the very early 1900s. In her photo collection she had a picture of him dated February 14, 1900. John died of pneumonia prior to their marriage.
The ring has a gold band and three blue opals, one of which is chipped. A jeweler has said the opals are too fragile to reset. Elaine Beaudoin currently has the ring.
