Larry and Helen (Sullivan) McIntyre lived on the west side of Chicago until 1967 when they moved into this condo on Chicago's northside.
They chose their new condo, and the first home they ever owned, after looking at a number of units both in Chicago and the suburbs. Since Helen didn't drive, she wanted to be near public transportation.
She was working at Home Federal Savings in the 1960s and her bank was holding the mortgages on this new condominium. Helen, Larry and their daughter Elaine, went to visit the location in late 1965 only to find that the first available unit, on the southside of the building, was on the 18th floor of a construction site that was merely a hole in the ground at that time.
The Great Chicago snow of January 28, 1967 further slowed the move in, but by March 1967 the McIntyre Family had moved into their brand new condo on Sheridan Road. Helen and Larry spent the rest of their lives here, enjoying the sun on the balcony and the many friends they made in the building.
