John Ginty is listed in the 1857 Griffith's Valuation as the occupier of this land in Carrowbeg, Co. Mayo. In addition to John Ginty, twelve other names are also listed as occupiers of same piece of property. John Ginty was the father of Mary Ginty who married Lawrence McIntyre of Lislea, Co. Sligo.

The opening view of this video is of the field across the road from the property John Ginty occupied. Eventually, the video pans a white house in the background which is the house where Sally Ruane Gilger grew up in the 1930s. John Ginty was Sally's great-grandfather.
