  • Birth*: Bridget was born at Tottenhamgreen, Taghmon Parish, County Wexford, Ireland, on 27 May 1849.1,2,3,4
  • Baptism: She was baptized on 28 May 1849 at Taghmon, Ferns, County Wexford, Ireland; Sponsors are Edward Molly and Cath Kavanaugh.5
  • Married Name: As of 1869,her married name was Headen.
  • Marriage*: She married Francis Headen at St. Joseph Church, Rose Hill, Cook County, Illinois, USA, on 2 May 1870. The information in the Connor/Colfer Bible has not yet been verified. There is no record of the Headen/Connor marriage in the Marriage Register of St. Joseph Church. However, it is possible the priest, Fr. Marshal, whom I believe was at St. Henry's at the time, didn't record the marriage. St. Henry Marriage Register has also been checked with no record of the marriage, however, Fr. Marshall is listed as the officiating minister at several wedding there during this time period.

Rose Hill was an area around Ridge Avenue in what is now parts of Evanston and possibly Wilmette

Additionally, Per 1880 Census, first child, John, was 9 years old.

Per the 1900 Census, when Frank Headon is asked how long he has been married, the reply is 31 years. Then, it is crossed out, and 22 years is written. The same number of years he was married to Agnes McCanna. The assumption is that he married Bridget Lucy Connor in 1869 or 1970, 31 years before.6,7

Funeral at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26 by carriages to Calvary. Relatives and friends are invited. Chicago Tribune, December 25, 1876, Page 8.
In Memoriam. On Saturday last, close on the confines of the Sabbath day, Mrs. Frank Headen departed this life. For almost a year she had been confined to her room, gradually getting weaker and weaker, and at intervals suffering the extremity of pain. On Tuesday her remains were conveyed to Calvary Cemetery, and temporarily placed in the receiving vault. In the coming spring the grass which will be green above her narrow bed, and the fragrant flowers which will be placed thereon by loving hands will speak fitly and sweetly of a life, that in the even tenor of its way, was a daily benediction to all encircled by it. Charles J. Connor, native of Evanston and one of the city's best know business men, died Saturday at his home, 1220 Maple Avenue.
Born in Evanston May 4, 1876, Mr. Connor attended the elementary schools of Notre Dame, but upon the death of his father, the late J. C. Connor, he finished his high school education at St. Patrick's academy in Chicago. Following graduation he assumed management of the J. C. Connor Hardware company which had been established by his father and continued in this capacity until the business was sold.
It was at this period that Mr. Connor entered the real estate and insurance field, in which he had been active until recent weeks. He was a member of the Evanston-North Shore Real Estate board and at one time served as its secretary.
Mr. Connor was a life-long member of St. Mary's church and one of its most devoted and loyal parishioners. Among his outstanding contributions was a history of St. Mary's which he complied for the Diamond jubilee of the parish in 1940. He was an ardent worker in Newman council, Knights of Columbus and his interest in music and drama was apparent in the many amateur plays and musicals he coached and produced. Mr. Connor was a member of St. Mary's choir for more than 40 years, belonged to the Evanston Musical association and for many seasons sang with the great chorus of the annual Music festival.
Always civic minded, he was interested in everything that pertained to the progress and welfare of Evanston. As the descendant of Evanston pioneers, he was often consulted about the early history of the town.
Mr. Connor leaves a brother William, and four sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, and Clara, all of Evanston, and Mrs. Cecilia Reiss of Sheboygan, Wis.
The funeral was held Monday morning at St. Mary's church with Msgr. Frederick Hillenbrand as celebrant of the solemn requiem high mass. Burial was in the family lot at Calvary.

    Dear Rose:
We received your nice card and were glad to hear from you, but sorry that you hurt your leg and had to go to the Sanitarium. I hope you are feeling much better now and will soon be well.
Ann Phelan like it very much at Sacred Heart and enjoyed meeting you and Genevieve.
It is good of Genevieve to think of having us out and I wish we lived nearer so we could see each other oftener. Right now we are rather tied down on account of Will's illness. He suffered a severe stroke almost five years ago and has been an invalid ever since.
He lost his speech as well as being paralyzed and lately he does not see very well so it is quite pitiful.
If you or any of the family have a car, and are out this way, we would love to see you all. I often wish I had learned to drive when I was younger - We might have kept Charlie's car. We still miss him so much.
Well, we had good Christmas weather - It was nice getting out to Mass under the stars. The rest of the week has been so unusual with rain, snow, wind and today thunder and lightening. I'm afraid there will be many accidents.
Father Charles Sullivan came out to see Will the Sunday before Christmas. He looks real well now but I think he has too much to do. The Jesuits work hard.
Perhaps someday we can get together and have a good visit. In the meantime we all wish you and yours health and happiness in the new year.
    Sincerely yours,
    Mary Connor.11
